📖 1. Quick Start Guide
Simple Sheet calculates values line by line, making it easier to read than a traditional calculator and faster to use than a spreadsheet.
Each row consists of three main elements:
- Label: A name for the item (e.g., "Dinner", "Tax", "Discount").
- Operator: The math symbol to apply (+, -, ×, ÷).
- Value: The number you are calculating.
By entering a Base Number at the top of the sheet, all rows below will automatically calculate and update the Total at the bottom in real-time.
⚙️ 2. Calculation Modes & Controls
Tap the mode icon on any row to change how that specific line interacts with the rest of your sheet.
- 🏠 Base Base Number: Calculates strictly using the "Base" number at the top of the sheet. Great for flat deductions.
- 🔗 Chain Chain: Calculates by carrying over the result from the row immediately above it. Essential for stacked discounts or compounding interest.
- % Percent Percentage: Treats the inputted value as a percentage. For example, entering "10" will calculate 10% of the reference value.
- ⏸️ Pause Exclude (Pause): Temporarily removes the row from the total calculation. Useful for testing different "what-if" scenarios without deleting your data.

Saving Your Work
💾 Save You can save your calculations (including the title, rows, and memos) locally on your device. The Free version allows up to 3 local saves. Note: Data is saved strictly inside your browser's local storage. Clearing your cache will delete these saves.
Sharing with Others
- 📱 Share Generates a text summary of your calculation and a unique URL to restore the sheet on another device. (Standard URLs are valid for 30 days). The recipient can review or edit the sheet on their own phone.
- 🔳 QR Code Displays a QR code on your screen. Have a friend scan it to instantly share the bill, or scan it with your own smartphone to move a calculation from your PC to your phone.
💡 PC Integration Hack
Tap "Share" on your phone and paste the URL into a cloud-synced notes app (like Apple Notes, Google Keep, or Notion). Click that URL on your PC to open the exact same calculation on your desktop instantly.

- Unlimited Local Saves: Remove the 3-sheet limit and save as many calculations as you need.
- Clickable URLs in Memos: Any URL written in your memo area becomes a clickable hyperlink, perfect for referencing product pages or receipts.
- 📋 Copy All Copies all calculation data to your clipboard. This generates a special "Restore Link" with your data directly embedded inside the URL. This link never expires, making it perfect for long-term archiving.
- Excel & AI Ready: Pasting the "Copy All" data into Excel automatically formats it into a clean 3-column table. It is also highly formatted for feeding complex calculations into AI tools like ChatGPT.
❓ 5. Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
Do I need to create an account to use the app?
No. Simple Sheet is designed to be entirely frictionless. You can calculate, save locally, and share links without ever registering or logging in.
Can I use Simple Sheet offline?
Yes. Calculations, editing, and local saves work completely offline. An internet connection is only required when you generate a Share URL or open a link sent by someone else.
Does my saved data sync across my phone and PC automatically?
No. For privacy reasons, saved data is stored locally in your current browser. To move a sheet to another device, simply use the Share URL or scan the QR code.
I cleared my browser cache and my saves disappeared. Can I restore them?
Unfortunately, no. Because data is strictly stored in your browser, clearing your cache will delete your local saves. For important sheets, we highly recommend generating a Share URL as a backup, or upgrading to Pro to use the non-expiring "Copy All" link.
How long do shared links remain active?
Standard shared URLs are hosted on our servers and are valid for 30 days. Pro users can use the "Copy All" feature to generate a special link that contains the data directly within the URL string, which never expires.
