Splitting expenses manually often leads to awkward conversations or miscalculations. By using a digital template, you can input the total receipt amount—including tax and tip—and let the app calculate exactly how much each person owes. It's the perfect tool for group dinners, shared Uber rides, or collaborative gifts.
1. Click the "Use This Template in App" button above to load the preset into Simple Sheet.
2. Tap the "Base" value at the top and enter the total amount from your receipt.
3. The rows below will automatically calculate the split for 2, 3, or 4 people.
4. Use the "Share" button in the app to send the result to your group via WhatsApp or iMessage.
A: It is generally much easier to calculate the total amount (Food + Tax + Tip) first, and then divide that final grand total among the group. Enter this grand total into the "Base" field.
A: If you need to make specific deductions (like subtracting the cost of drinks for one person), you can easily add a new row in Simple Sheet and use the subtraction ("-") operator before splitting the remaining balance.
